WEEKEND AND FATHER’S DAY

June 18th, 2006

It’s been a crazy kind of week.

…Some good – Some not-so-good.

Thursday’s session with my head doctor left me kind of out in another field. I had to face something that, even though I feel horrible about – I had keep suppressed. (Mainly because other things have been going so well.) A friend had an appointment on the same day – an hour before mine so we rode out and back together. It was really good to talk to someone about crap – on the way home.

My dinner plans had to be cancelled – that bummed me out a little. (A little more than bummed  — a little.)

Friday: I had a LAST MINUTE meeting in the morning and thin — I escaped for a GREAT lunch date. I had a great time but I think that I talked way too much. LOL

A LAST MINUTE meeting called that afternoon squashed the wonderful day. (Not really.)

That night I just hung out and also started a web site design for a friend.

Saturday, when I woke up, I realized that I had slept an ENTIRE eight UNINTERUPTED hours. This was one of the first times in almost four months. I actually had pleasant dreams too – which I remembered! OMG!!!!

That night I went to dinner with Joan and to – believe it or not – a recital at the Eissey Theater. It was a nice evening until she realized that she had lost her keys!

I got really sad when I was watching the show because I remember watching M in his show and was so happy and proud of him. I still haven’t heard from him except for the Thank You message he left on my voicemail two weeks ago.

I really miss him – so god dammed much!

Today, of course, is Father’s Day, so I spent the morning and early afternoon with my dad and family. LS really cooked up a great brunch.
I walked around CityPlace for a while then on the way home — stopped off and got some DVD’s (I do that when I am depressed or moody sometimes).

Now, I may mow the lawn and replace a light fixture at the back of the house.

I see an electrocution in my future!

LAST SHOW OF THE SEASON FOR ME

June 13th, 2006

Well, “The Magic Fountain” (the show that I appeared in with The PBBC) is over. It was such a great experience.  I had a wonderful time. Working with Joan and and her students is so much fun and rewarding too!

Even though my name in the program order of the ballet was left out, Joan wanted to make an announcement. I said “no” because the show wasn’t about me but about the students. At least she said something BEFORE I found out about it another way. (No one showed that courtesy in the last performance I was in.) Joan treats me so well  — again like I do exist.

Ry was absolutely freekin incredible. My two young cohorts in the performance were really fun with whom to work.

I went to the second part of the performance on Sunday night to see the Jazz, Tap, Modern portion of the recital. Afterwards, Joan acknowledged all the teachers. She actually called me on stage to say thanks for the many years that I have performed with her company. I guess I have developed a following with her audiences because they were really receptive. HOWEVER — it was the screams and “yeas” from her students that mattered the most. …That really made me fell good.

I am not feeling sorry for myself (its just a brutal realization) but again there was no one in the audience that came to see me. I just reminded me of all the great support from all my friend that I had when my grandmother died — NON EXISTENT!

I just wish that people I knew would take a few minutes to see my work other than what I do at BF. I really do good things, so I have been told. Its just that even with promises, my friends don’t show up. Next time, I will try to be in an Academy Award winning movie to even hope to see someone by my side — LMFAO!

Well, Markus was there and I thank God for that. It was really nice that he came. I really appreciate that!

ALL IN ALL

…It was STILL a great experience!

SUMMER IS COMING

June 4th, 2006

I can tell that it’s soon to be summer because the Spring Concert is OVER in which I did the Walk-on Cop in Donna’s 42nd Street Tap Extravaganza. Joan Miller’s show, in which I am peforming is next week.

The Spring Concert was two hours and about fifteen minutes. The kids did well and looked good.

Joan’s show — the Ballet  — is THREE HOURS in the afternoon. Then, the kids come back in the evening to perform the Jazz, Tap, Modern and Hip – Hop  portions. I’d HATE to be their parents.

Actually — theose kids do really GREAT too.

Dad is doing well. My sister Delaine has been here for a week and helped out — THANK GOD!!!!!!

We have finally had some decent rains here. I was beginning to think that this area was going to be the new American Desert.

HOSPITAL — AGAIN OFR DAD

May 23rd, 2006

Yesterday was moving along. I had a conference call meeting with a company that offers a new ticketing system at work and a database solution for the Development Department that has plagued with serious problems for over five years. I even had a little blow out with the office manager over a check request that wasn’t filled BUT of course, no one told me that the bookkeeper didn’t cut the check. This happens all of the time.

Around 5:00. L gets a call from home to find out my Dad wasn’t feeling too good. He was clammy, light headed and his pulse and blood pressure was all over the charts.

OK pisses me off!

…Not calling the doctors office and rather than getting in the car or calling 911, he sits and waits for L and me to get there. He is so hard headed. THEN — L calls his doctor to be told get him to the hospital right a way. Of course with Dad — NOTHING — is right away. LOL

After a series of extensive tests, he had a problem with his heart but NO heart attack. He may have a have procedure which was performed on him several years ago.

However

…He also has a bladder infection. This could have quite possibly caused the problem since he has had it for a while.

We were in the Emergency Room from 6:30ish to 2:30AM until he was finally moved into a room. We left the hospital around 3:45AM and stopped to get something to eat. I had to pick up my car at Dad and Ls on Singer Island and drive home West of Military Trail — which is another 20 minutes away. The sun was coming up when I went to bed.

There was a slight

P A N I C

…Remembering the ordeal we had with him last summer — when he spent 47 days in three different health – care institutions with his gal balder surgery, rehab recovery and his broken hip (which he STILL hasnt fully regained strength). We were ALL on first name bases with the entire staff of Good Samaritan AND St. Marys Hospitals including nurses, doctors, technicians, security guards and cafeteria personnel.

In all honesty, I don’t think that I could go through that again along with everything else in which I have to deal.

I had dinner plans with friends and we were ALL going to see the Da Vinci Codes MISSED IT!

OH WELL — Worse could have happned, eh?

Luckily, Dads little trip to the hospital may be over tomorrow AND will be home and OK.

MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND

May 15th, 2006

I actually slept until 8:30 am today – almost six full hours – straight through.

…No weird dream either.

Set out on the town. I dropped off the CD that I burned for a friend. (I thought we were going to have lunch but I guess I got wires crossed – I was looking forward to it too. DAMN. Hopefully we will meet up online later.) So, I had lunch by myself and went to the studio to  pick up some mail.

THEN — off to Lowes’s to pick up some cheap light fixtures for me to turn my side tables for my by bed into — kind of — lamps. They are too kewl! BITE IT MARTHA STEWART!

I really have to clean the kitchen. It’s disgusting!

I spent the Sunday morning with my mother. I took her to brunch. This was the first Mother’s Day WiTHOUT my grandmother — since she died a few months ago. I was sooooooo sad. Then my mother gave me one of my granny’s teapots and her sugar bowl. Thank God it was in the parking lot because I cried all of the way home.

There was a reunion party as SD’s house this afternoon. About nine former dancers with the Company were there. Two were pregnant and three were pretty much newlyweds. It was nice to see the old familiar faces. These were dancers when the company was almost always fun without egos, attitudes and such!

SD served a whole hell of lot of brunch-style food. Of course, I had JUST eaten with my mother so I was completely full.

I cleaned the kitchen

NOW

…I might finish cleaning my house.

…More hand grenades and bulldozers!

THE SEASON IS OVER!

May 8th, 2006

The last Company show of the Season is finally done – OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought yesterday’s matinee crowd was bad. Well, I was wrong. Today’s was so horrible. People breezing in like they owned the place expecting to be seated 10 minutes after the show started!

I had a knock down drag out fight with one lady. Then, right before the first intermission was over (the house lights were going down) she goes to the restroom – the second act started. Another fight ensued because they ushers wouldn’t her back in. The witch did it on purpose AND she had complimentary seats!

The ushers ran out of programs – AGAIN and didn’t day anything! (We had hundreds!) Some of the ushers didn’t close the doors when the acts started. It was a complete mess today!

It was Jerry’s last show too. The entire Company and staff bowed a tribute to him at the end curtain. It lasted for about 10 minutes! There’s a huge party at DECO restuarant in his honor. It was fabulous. The turnout was great.

Now it’s just the Spring Concert.
